Mission Experiences

Second Mission
We will be serving in the Seoul South Korea mission for two years. We will be posting our experiences below.

First Mission
Hello to all our family and friends visiting this Blog. We are excited about our mission to Kharkov Ukraine. We are in the Donetsk Mission as Humanitarian/Welfare missionaries. Half of our time will be spent helping members with employment. We are also taking Russian lessons from a little Ukrainian girl twice a week. Our brains seem to be a bit scrambled but we are enjoying the process. Keep tuned in and we will keep you updated on what's happening. We are loving it here in Ukraine and we love the people. What a great experience.

Sister Burr brought a couple of pans of Orange rolls to help in the meal.  Yummy.

The dishes above were from the ward Christmas party.  They make their foods look very appealing.  This was a nice meal.  I will show a couple of more pictures of the meal in the next few frames.

We were out and about and ran onto a fish market so we went in.  It smelled like a fish market too.  The two worm looking things were squiggling off the table.  They had live crab's, oyster's, squid and all kinds of fish.
This is inside the subway.  It is nice and clean and efficient.  They really take care of their subways in South Korea.  And if we are standing around looking confused where to go we always have Korean people come up to us who know now to speak English and help us out.  They are very kind.
This is the inside of the train.  It was a nice ride but the President didn't by a return ticket as we didn't know how long we would be there and we would buy a ticket back after our stay.  When we went back to the station though to buy a ticket back the train was full until 8 that night so we took the subway back and it took us over two hours and we had to stand most of the time then we had to walk home from there which took us about 10 to 15 minutes.
This is the Mission President and his wife with us getting on the bullet train in the background to go to the Southern part of our mission to by a new suit.  It will save us about 2 hours in a car and will take us about 18 minutes.

This is the couple we replaced.  They are a great couple and did a fine job of training us.  There is a lot to absorb.
Us with President Turner and his wife.  They are a great couple.
We go to this tie shop about an hour away form our office to buy ties for about three dollars a tie for the missionaries that can't go there as it is out of their area.
Eating with members of the South Korea Ward that we belong to
Here we are in a group picture of us the mission president and his wife and the other missionaries that came out a week after we did.

Here  we are at the MTC by the big map showing you where we are going this time to the South Korea Seoul South mission.  If you can't see it we are pointing at it it is South Korea.  We will be there for 23 months trying to do our meager part in building the Lords kingdom here on earth.  The post below this one is the last post form our first mission to Ukraine.
